Thursdays, 4-6 p.m., July 13 - August 31.
Lisa Rhodes-Ryabchich will teach a memoir, fiction, and poetry writing workshop in the conference room of the Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library (located at 25 Flywheel Park West, Piermont, NY) this summer.
The first hour will be about the craft of memoir, fiction and poetry. We will look at a variety of literature, and poetry and analyze how it works to create an interesting piece of writing. The nuts and bolts of each genre will be explored. Then we will spend the 2nd hour writing with prompts and critique informally each person’s in-class writing by providing constructive ideas to improve their writing. There will be only positive feedback and each student should bring a notebook.
No experience is required and all are welcome.
Registration is free. Sign up at the front desk or call 845-359-4595.
