The Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library will host an "Edible Books" Baking Contest during our 10th Anniversary Celebration.
What is an "edible books" contest and how do you participate? Glad you asked!
Decorate a food item, usually a dessert, based on a book title, cover, character, etc. Take a look at our submission form or search Pinterest for some examples of booky cookies, poetic pastries, sci-fi pies, mysterious meringues and such to get your creative juices flowing… and baking!
Instructions: Submit your entry form by March 31st and bring your baked goods on April 9th for judging. Judging will be based on the visual presentation of your piece. Entries will not be tasted until after a winner is chosen.
Timeline on Sunday, April 9th:
11:30 a.m.: Bring your entry to the library for setup.
12 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Voting will be open to attendees of the 10th Anniversary Celebration. Everyone gets one vote.
4 p.m. A winner will be announced, and then the best part, everyone gets to "eat your words" and taste all the "edible book" creations.
