Frances Pellegrini had a successful commercial career in New York from the late 1940s through the 1980s. She was a contemporary of photographers Margaret Bourke White and Walker Evans, and also worked with Dan Weiner and Sid Grossman whose use of photography as a tool for social change and personal expression found their way into her work.
