Summer Art Classes for Children (Entering Grades 2 and up)

Children's Art Class with Alexis Starke

Weekly: every Monday afternoon. Starts July 12th, ends Aug. 16th.

The Library is offering a series of free Summer Art Classes for children entering grades 2 and up, taught by Alexis Starke. All materials will be provided. Smocks are provided as well, or children can bring their own.

Class size is limited to 10 students. Please call 359-4595 or send an email to alexis@piermontlibrary.org to register.

Students will create imaginative art projects with a variety of themes. Projects will include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, crafts and mixed media using a variety of materials and techniques suited to the age group. Students will be introduced to various artists from art history. Creativity is emphasized in a relaxed setting.

About the Teacher:

Alexis Starke has taught children's art classes for the past ten years at schools including the Saddle River Day School and the Martha's Vineyard Public Charter School. She studied art and design at Dartmouth College and English and Art History at University College, Cork, Ireland. She is currently working at the Piermont Library.
