For the month of June, the Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library will exhibit its Student Art Show: Journey to Brazil.

An artists' reception will be held on Sunday, June 4th, from 3:00 - 4:00 PM. All are welcome.

Throughout the year, the Library offers art classes to students in grades 1 - 8 taught by Alexis Starke. The classes cover a range of materials and techniques from drawing to painting to crafts to sculpture.

For this exhibition, the focus is on Brazil and projects are inspired by Brazilian artists Tarsila do Amaral and Beatriz Milhazes as well as by the blue and white tiles that are a feature of Brazilian and Portuguese architecture.

Join us at the reception for a taste of Brazil through its art and artists, landscape and culture, music and food.
