1,000 Books Before Kindergarten for Pre-Schoolers

Children's Art Class with Alexis Starke

Weekly: Wednesday afternoons, starting on Sept. 21, 2016.

The Library is offering a series of free Art Classes for children in grades 1-4, taught by Alexis Starke. All materials will be provided. Smocks are provided as well, or children can bring their own.

Class size limited to 12 students. Please call 359-4595 to register.

Students will create imaginative art projects with a variety of themes. Projects will include drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and mixed media using a variety of materials and techniques suited to the age group. Students will be introduced to various artists from art history. Creativity is emphasized in a relaxed setting.

Let's Knit! - Grades 3 and up

(For children in Grades 3 and up with an adult practice partner)

Thursdays: January 12, 19 & 26.

Children in Grades 3 and up are invited to come with an adult to learn knitting basics together. Needles and yarn will be provided.

Bilingual Story Time (Spanish-English) / Cuentos Bilingües (Español - Inglés)

Saturdays, December - January except holidays (library closed Dec. 24 & 31)

Bilingual (Spanish-English) Toddler Story Time is back! This program is best suited for toddlers age 3 and up. Library staff and volunteers believe this is an excellent opportunity for children from Spanish-speaking homes to be introduced to English, as well as for those from English-speaking homes to be introduced to Spanish. Children will enjoy stories, songs, and playtime in a relaxed, friendly, bilingual environment that promotes cooperation, early literacy, and of course, fun. No registration necessary. Just drop in and join us.

La biblioteca Dennis P. McHugh en Piermont presentará cuentos bilingües desde las 10:30 hasta las 11:30 a.m. Este programa es adecuado para los niños desde los 3 años. Será una oportunidad excelente para que los niños aprendan otro idioma en un ambiente cómodo y divertido. Reúnase con nosotros para divertirse con cuentos, canciones y juegos. Inscribirse no es necesario.
