Benefits of Membership

This is a great opportunity to show your love of libraries and appreciation of the many rewards it offers you, your family and our community. Your generosity is put to good use every day by keeping library doors open and accessible. Individual membership starts at $25. The more you give, the greater the impact the Friends can have to help our Library, supporting and supplementing the services it offers.

What is the purpose of the "Friends"?  »

Since opening our doors in 2007, the Library has served as an

  • art gallery
  • concert venue
  • community center
  • internet cafe
  • movie theater
  • homework hub

...all this in addition to providing access to books, audiobooks, music and DVDs with our own collection, as well as our access to the entire Ramapo Catskill Library System.

Many of these resources are supplemented by the Friends - as a result of our Membership Drive and ongoing fundraising activities.

Please help us continue to fund these activities by joining the Friends today.

Your contribution will support our Library and our Community!

About the Friends of the Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Public Library »

In April of 1990, the Friends of the Piermont Public Library was formed by a group of residents interested in building community support for the library. The Friends raise funds for the library through their programs and activities, and provide a liaison between the library board and the community at large. New members are always welcome.

The Friends, an all volunteer organization, is committed to sponsoring a variety of programs and events designed to meet the interests of our entire community as well as to provide support for our library.

Contact: Helene Winson at (845)398-3238.

When do Friends Meet? »

The Friends Board generally meet the last Wednesday every other month, more frequently when managing special programs. Meetings are held at 7 p.m. in the Library and all are welcome to attend.

Come and see how our fundraising ideas become a reality. Perhaps you have ideas for a new project? Friends Board meetings offer an opportunity to get more involved, to identify creative new fundraising events and assist in making the events become a reality.
