Photos from the 2009 Crabfest and book sale at Applefest »

The Friends of the Piermont Public Library sponsored two events that were held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Piermont: the Annual Crabfest and a Book Sale held during the Applefest that took place in Flywheel Park.

Included here are a few photos from these 2009 Friends fundraising events.

Home grown II »

Inspired in part by our June exhibit/program "Home Grown", library staff decided to experiment with some vegetables planted among shrubs and grasses in our backyard.

Here you see a sample of what we were able to grow in very limited space with a modicum of effort. With the exception of the tomatoes, everything was grown from seed. It's really fun and we would encourage you to give it a try! You can even use pots on the terrace for some of these plants - although that probably wouldn't work too well with the wild and crazy squash!

New program series - Piermont: Friends and Neighbors »

Beginning on September 20th, 2009, the library will embark on a new series of programs called Piermont: Friends and Neighbors.

Programs will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday afternoons and will bring some of our very talented residents to the library to speak about the interesting and important work they do.
