Our next Create and Sip event for adults with Alexis Starke is coming up! This month, we will be creating a quick Brazilian landscaped inspired by Tarsila do Amaral. We will touch on composition, shading, blending and value and should end up with a fantastic piece by the end of the night!
Each participant will receive a goody bag with chocolates, a mini bottle of wine, paper, and inspiration images. Oil pastels are ideal for this project (try them if you never have!) but colored pencils or crayons can work too. Our projects are always designed to be relaxed and beginner friendly but fun for all levels. This is a live virtual class.
Registration for Piermont patrons starts Monday, May 1st, at 12:00 noon. Registration for all starts Monday, May 8th, at 10:00 am.

Join us in our latest Create and Sip Even for Adults with Alexis Starke. Each participant will receive a goody bag with chocolates, a mini bottle of wine, paper, and inspiration images. This project works best with acrylic paints, but markers, oil pastels, or even colored pencils or crayons can work as well. Pule often uses a mix of materials and you can too. We can provide some acrylics in little containers if you wish. Our projects area always designed to be relaxed and beginner friendly but fun for all levels. This is a live virtual class.

I think of myself as a creative explorer. I am on a quest of self discovery through art and the act of creating and responding. These past few years have in a way drawn me even deeper into this act of self reflection and learning. I use paint and pencil in the form of portraiture to answer questions that I am not sure I will know the answer to. I am driven by curiosity and the idea of, what if? I would say that these paintings were inspired by that question. Why if I try this? What if I do that? I feel like I am wandering a path that has no true destination, just light bulbs going on along the way. I love to live a creative life that feels somewhat open ended. Following the breadcrumbs. I don’t feel that this is an aimless pursuit though, because there are those moments of completion, and these paintings symbolize that to me. I love to express from where I am at the moment. Art is a living and breathing thing, an expression from the soul. Art is life and art is a journey. I’m grateful to be on that journey.
