Adult Create and Sip: Winslow Homer
Our July Create and Sip will be inspired by American artist Winslow Homer (1836 – 1910) in conjunction with our summer reading theme, Oceans of Possibilities, and the current exhibition of his work now on view through July 31st at the Metropolitan Museum of Art- Winslow Homer: Crosscurrents.
Join Alexis Starke for a fun and relaxing (virtual) artistic evening. Some materials, inspiration images, wine, and chocolates are included in these popular evenings. We will be creating seascapes in acrylics and/ or watercolors.
If you have the chance, do visit the exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The exhibition is the largest retrospective of Homer’s work in over 25 years. Winslow Homer: Crosscurrents presents Homer’s imagery of the Atlantic world and reveals themes of racial, political, and natural conflict across his career.
Please email astarke@piermontlibrary.org with any questions. Our projects are designed to be relaxed and beginner friendly but fun for all levels.
