Details and registration on our events calendar. Join us for a relaxing, fun, and creative Adult Art and Craft Class: Maud Lewis! We will take inspiration from the Canadian folk artist Maud Lewis and create a vibrant seascape, perfect for the start of summer. Watercolor paper, drawing guides, and inspiration images will be provided. You will need acrylic paints, but you can also improvise with what you have. This is a virtual event.
June Virtual Art Show and Reception: The Bluefield Artists

The Bluefield Artists are a vibrant community working in all media in innovative and authentic ways. In this exhibit, the artists offer a celebration of their rich diversity and talent which includes works by Michael Craft, Lisa D’Amico, John R Gilbert, Rob Kovacs, Joe LaMattina, Andrew Maisonette, Kayla Sharp, and Carlos Sierra. Each artist has selected a small group of their outstanding pieces that reveal the many ways they express their visual dialogues using their creativity and passion.

Teen Film Festival
About the festival:
This competition was conceived as an opportunity to remember the life of 9/11 victim Michael J. Armstrong while celebrating the creative talents of local teenagers. Film was one of many passions held by Armstrong, a 34-year-old bond trader at Cantor Fitzgerald on September 11, 2001. This is the third year of holding this event.
The Foundation established in his name seeks to commemorate a $10,000 mark of giving to the library and forge a commitment to making the film competition an annual event in memory of Armstrong, who was an avid believer that the passions of young people should be explored and nurtured through education and opportunity. This year, the show will be going virtual; using Zoom, submissions will be shown and prizes will be awarded. The challenge for entrants is to tell a compelling story, in any theme or genre of their choosing, in five minutes or less.
Screenings begin at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the end of the evening. It is the hope of the Foundation that the prize money will be spent to further enhance the students’ love of film.
